Artist of the Month
Jeannie Norwood

Jeannie Lynn Norwood is a Visual Artist with a vast and varied background. She has a B.A. in Art and Art Education. She also has an M.A. in art focusing on Painting and Sculpture plus additional post graduate studies.

Ms. Norwood retired from the Alamosa Public Schools after 28 years of teaching, 6-12, Art, As well as Art classes and assisting at the college level. She has also traveled the world viewing historical & cultural Art.

In 2011, after many years as a painter, she became fascinated with Digital Art using her personal photographs instead of downloaded images. Her training includes classes with Bert Monroy, who is considered to be the Father of Photoshop.

Most of her work is Mixed Media as she frequently incorporates a variety of images & objects, including her ceramic sculptures, into her work. She can best be described as a Storyteller. Even though her content is always open to interpretation, it has a message to contemplate. 

Ms. Norwood has shown her work in numerous exhibits in Colorado & New Mexico. She is a true believer in the advocacy of Art and participates in related art groups & events.
